iOS App · Personal Collections
My Jars is a calm, private iOS app for collecting the things you want to remember — gift ideas, recipes, travel dreams, quotes, and anything else worth holding onto. Not a to-do list. Not a notes dump. Just your things, in their own jars.
Icons shown are illustrative. In-app icons use Apple SF Symbols, which are licensed for use within Apple platform apps only.
What it does
My Jars does one thing — gives you a beautiful, private home for the things you want to remember. No complexity, no setup, no account required.
Create as many collections as you like — one for every corner of your life.
One search finds items instantly across every jar at once.
Apple's native icon library — crisp, free, adapts to all screen sizes.
Amber, rose, sage, sky, lavender, peach. Each jar has its own identity.
Drop a URL alongside any note — save recipes, products, articles online.
Free to download. No subscription. No adverts. No hidden anything.
Built with
My Jars is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks — no third-party dependencies, no external services, no backend infrastructure of any kind.
The entire app is built in SwiftUI — Apple's modern framework for building native iOS interfaces with clean, readable code.
All data is stored on-device using UserDefaults with JSON encoding. No database, no server, no network calls of any kind.
All icons use Apple's SF Symbols — 35 options for jar icons, free to use in App Store apps, no attribution required.
The ObservableObject store uses @Published to keep the UI in sync with data automatically across all views.
SKStoreReviewController prompts engaged users for a rating at natural moments — after adding their 3rd, 10th and 30th item.
Privacy
My Jars was built with privacy as a first principle. Apple lists My Jars as "No Data Collected" on the App Store listing.
Nothing is ever sent anywhere. Your jar contents never leave your phone.
Open the app and start immediately. No sign-up, no email, no password.
No analytics SDK, no advertising framework, no third-party code of any kind.
There is no server, no cloud database, no API. Entirely self-contained on your device.
About
My Jars started as a simple idea — a calm, private place to keep the things you want to remember without the overhead of a notes app or the pressure of a to-do list.
It was built entirely in SwiftUI as a solo hobbyist project. The whole experience — from the warm colour palette to the one-tap item entry — was designed to feel personal and unhurried.
Version 1.2 is deliberately simple. Future updates will add features based on genuine user feedback. If you have a suggestion, I want to hear it.
Unlimited jars, 35 icons, 6 colours, full search, links, swipe to delete, edit items, local storage.
Dark mode support, item starring, item reordering, jar reordering, support screen.
Item copying to clipboard, jar contents sharing, text size scaling.
Features beyond v1.2 will be shaped entirely by user feedback. If you have a suggestion, get in touch.

No tracking. My Jars does not track your behaviour, location, usage patterns or any other information. There is no analytics code of any kind in the app.
